How the Nonprofit Was Organized
A board, two program directors and volunteers behind two initiatives.
From the archive. This page keeps material published on this domain by Smart Coast, a Fairhope, Alabama nonprofit, in the years around 2004–2013. It is preserved as a record; the magazine that publishes smartcoast.org today is independent and is not that nonprofit. Contact details and personal information have been removed, and pictures that no longer exist have been replaced with credited photographs.

The nonprofit was run by a volunteer board of directors and two program directors, one for each initiative: Healthy Coastal Communities, which covered Smart Walks to school and Complete Streets, and the Green Coast Council, a forum for sustainable business. Volunteers handled much of the day-to-day work, from the website to leading walks.
