On April 18, 2006, Smart Coast hosted a conference called Imagine: A Region with Mixed Use Cities. The Imagine Mixed Use conference was held at Mobile’s award-winning Arthur Outlaw Convention Center.
The objective of the conference was to educate and inspire residents to get involved in local development decisions.
With population projections expected to exceed previous increases in every coastal area in the United States, how we plan for this growth is extremely important.
Decisions need to be carefully considered and made democratically with constituents getting information early and often.
The Imagine Mixed Use conference was about future possibilities and sharing how other areas successfully managed their growth and redevelopment.
